RESPONSIBLE EDUCATION

Practical Curricula That Work

Our community has unique educational needs and challenges. We do not tow the line of standardised, homogenised education for its own sake, choosing instead to study new approaches to education and to develop innovative ways to implement them.

Education must be effective and lead to increased usefulness, effective problem solving and a marked independence of thought and action. An education that falls short of these basics is effectively useless.

We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and using that information to measure shifts and changes from our baseline measurements.

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our community members are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in.

We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it, while at the same time driving them to solve their own problems and stand self-reliant; one that allows for step by step improvement in their living conditions, environment and economic standing that is organic and true to Baila culture, yet bold enough to dare to do better than previous generations through Chieftaincy-led initiatives that change perceptions, methods and practices across the full spectrum of human endeavor.

DIASPORA TRANSFUSION

Reinventing the Village Community

As Baila, we know no such thing as orphans. There is always a 'parent' to take care of those who have been left behind.

We recognize that Bantu out in the diaspora have been ancestrally orphaned, a loss that lies at the core of feelings of helplessness and despondency. We also know that many wish to return to the continent.

​

That's why we run a resettlement program for Bantu men and women currently in the diaspora who are not able to locate their exact ancestral roots but are strongly desirous of coming back to the continent, the land of their fathers. We invite them into our Chiefdom and settle them on their own land and with new adopted families. They also receive new ancestral names.
